Herbert J. Joseph, 88, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Akron on January 19, 1930 to the late Joe & Eva Joseph, Herb had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident for 40 years. He served his country as a forward radio operator in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a car salesman and sales manager for over 35 years, working for various dealers. Herb loved golf, and played until he was physically unable. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved spending time with his family & friends. Herb loved to read and whenever anyone got him a book he would say, "I already read that.'
In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his sisters Hazel & Gladys. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Leah; sons Jon, Mike (Teresa), & Chris (Maegan); grandchildren Dominic & Cicely; sister Marion Bell, as well as many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, 5-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
