Obituary of Rollin Rawson

Rollin "Rocky' Rawson, 96, passed away March 15, 2018. Born in West Virginia on February 23, 1922 to the late William & Lily Rawson, Rocky was a 1942 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He served his country in the US Army during WWII, and was a Bronze Star recipient. He retired from Montgomery-Ward after 20 plus years and continued working as a driver for United Dental Labs. Rocky was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls. He was a member of the American Legion #281 in Cuyahoga Falls. In addition to his parents, Rollin was preceded in death by his wife Janet; brothers Darrell & Harold; sisterrs Lorena Sullivan, Marjorie Fisher, & Juanita Doring. He is survived by his children Linda (Ron) Reichert, Susan (Glen) Witsaman, Cynthia Rawson, and Brian (Val) Rawson; grandchildren, Stacie (Larry) Kelley, Christine (Ted) Rusinoff, Leanne (Eric) Flory, Joshua (Lauren) Witsaman, Andrea (Nick) Luke, Glenna (Rolf) Moss, Holly (Mike) Gentile, Glen (Brenda) Witsaman, and Brian Fitzpatrick; "adopted daughter", Patty Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law Ruth Rawson, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, & nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 11 am. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
